Our founder and CEO, Joaquim Ferreira, started his journey in home textiles at a young age, starting the 4th generation in his family working in the industry.
Growing up in a small town near Guimarães called Felgueiras, Joaquim could get in close contact with nature and learn small habits such as growing his crops. This know-how connected him to his land and made him aware of his surroundings and the importance of organic ingredients. Joaquim develops a collection by being observant and understanding the aesthetics of a countryside landscape or a blue Atlantic ocean.

Our responsibility is to leverage our past to build a better present and future. This carries over into everything that we do, following our founder ́s legacy.

1985 | The Tradition

Joaquim is part of the 4th generation from his family working in textiles, and his experience comes from helping start his parent's business. What started as long hours of driving lorries across the country became international fights to meet global brands and forge connections.

2014 | Dreams Come True

INUP was born with a dream of using unlimited techniques to create unique jacquard designs. With a mindset for innovation, INUP introduced dyeing techniques such as garment dye and garment wash.

2016 | The Business Expands

A critical phase of fostering relationships with stakeholders and building bridges to introduce new product lines such as a hospitality collection.

2018 | More Visibility

The business expands, and INUP does its annual exhibition at the Heimtextil fair in a larger stand, increasing its visibility.

2020 | A New Label

Amidst Covid-19, we created INUPCare, a new line of healthcare products, including protective masks and hospital gowns. We sold protective masks in 35 pharmacies in the country.

2022 | Factory Growth

Our factory has set great expansion plans for the next three years, and our focus is on investing in the best equipment and building a resilient workforce.
